Unlike some of the actors and actresses on this list, John Wayne has had a good run in Hollywood, passing away at the age of 72 from stomach cancer. Although his death was a difficult one, surely professional doctors provided pain management and the best of care for him. The actor was one of the top grossing stars of his generation, with most of his Western-themed movies doing well at the box office. Of all his movies, Wayne is most famous for Rio Bravo, The Alamo, and True Grit. Wayne’s last film was The Shootist, a film where he played the character of J. B. Books, was also dying of cancer.
