Back in the day when Hudson was a young man in the Navy, being gay was still frowned upon. No one would have suspected that someone like Rock would be interested in other men at all. But apparently it was when he was in the military that Hudson discovered something new about him, which was that he was gay. Perhaps his many relationships with various women while in the Navy made him realize that he was more attracted to men. Nonetheless, even with this discovery, Hudson decided to not come out in the open, for the sake of his career and image.
