Wonder Woman in the Flesh: The Untold Story of Lynda Carter

Trying Times

Marriages come with struggles and problems, and Lynda Carter had to go through it, too, in 1992, when her marriage to Altman would be tested.  The government accused the lawyer with bank fraud and pressed the necessary charges in court. These charges originated from secret acquisitions involving the Bank of Credit and Commerce International and Altman’s firm.  All the couple’s assets were seized by the government, and they were told that if Altman would plead guilty, the couple would get their assets back and Carter wouldn’t be left penniless.  Trusting her husband’s innocence, Carter told him not admit guilt and never left his side throughout the trial, as he proved his innocence.  Altman was eventually acquitted, and the couple never even considered divorce through it all.
